THANKS FOR THE DD!
Whew!
We finally made a mask in 8oz leather that has a beak protruding at the right angle. YAY!
I (`
Crickatoo) am completely thrilled with this one. It's been in the works for a while. I had a dream, long ago, involving a fiery colored bird mask... ever since I knew it HAD to be made!

It wasn't until I read a couple of recommendations over at #
LeatherMaskArt regarding beaks and how to tackle the challenge, that I felt brave enough to go for it.
This thing is so heavily layered, but oddly enough still super comfortable and relatively light weight! I was surprised when I wore it for the first time, how sturdy it was on my face while not being heavy

And since I know some are going to point it out, yes, elements of this were inspired by the wonderful *
windfalcon. Her bird masks are divine, and I suggest everyone go take a look!
As usual, made with vegetable tanned tooling leather (8oz), liquitex acrylic paint, and sealed with gloss varnish.
The feathers along the top are real peacock feathers that have been stripped of their color.
Friendly reminder: This is NOT stock. Please do not ask us if you can use it for your personal art projects. Thanks

This is what it looks like with me wearing it:
